| BACKGROUND:
Ken made his Olympic debut in 2006 as a member of Pierre Lueders’ four-man crew, which finished in fourth place on the Cesana track near Torino. Along with Lueders, Morgan Alexander and Lascelles Brown, Ken was part of a contingent that became a formidable force over the course of the 2005-06 World Cup season, which continued through to the post-Olympic season. Ken continued pushing the Canada 1 four-man sled to more podium performances last year where he added three more World Cup medals to his collection.
Ken grew up in a farming community a few hours from Regina, Sask., and participated in a variety of sports including: badminton, basketball, volleyball and track from an early age. He played volleyball and competed in track at the University of Saskatchewan, where he continues to pursue degrees in Kinesiology and English. It was his track coach, Todd Johnston, who introduced him to the idea of bobsleigh. Ken has benefited from time in the Ice House at Canada Olympic Park, where sliding athletes practice their all-important push starts.
