Date of Birth:  July 7, 1978
Place of Birth:  Montreal, QC

BACKGROUND:
Inspired by incredible medal-winning performances by Canadian athletes at the 2006 Olympic Winter Games, Michelle did some searching on the Internet to explore how to get involved in the sport of skeleton where she read about a recruitment camp and her new sporting career was quickly underway.

After attending testing camps in May, followed by two summer camps in Calgary where she learned how to push, Michelle completed her first skeleton school in October and three weeks later was competing on the America’s Cup circuit. In just her third year competing, Michelle continues to work on her start while gaining run volume on the top tracks around the world.

Outside of her sporting career, Michelle has a BS Aviation, Tech, Professoinal Piloting and BA Journalism and Public Communications degrees from the University of Alaska Anchorage. Owning commercial and flight instructor pilot’s licenses in the U.S. where she went to school, Michelle is now trying to get her Canadian permits and hopes to be in the cockpit as a flight instructor by next summer.

Michelle also does web and graphic design for fun and brings her work on the road with her. Michelle is a self-admitted night-owl and Saturday morning summer garage sale shopper.
