| BACKGROUND:
Arguably Canada’s most decorated Olympian and the best athlete to ever drive the Canada 1 sled, Pierre Lueders has won everything there is on the table in the sport from Olympic to World Championship and World Cup medals.
Committed to sliding for Canada until the 2010 Olympic Winter Games, Pierre’s has racked up 85 World Cup medals, eight World Championship medals, and two Olympic medals during his illustrious career. The 19-year veteran of the Canadian Bobsleigh Team also has six Overall World Cup tittles in the two-man, one Overall World Cup title in the four-man, and four Combined Overall World Cup titles on his resume.
Pierre captured his second Olympic medal when he won a silver at the 2006 Olympic Winter Games in Torino - his fourth Olympic Games. At the 1998 Olympic Games, Pierre reached the top of the podium in the 2-man event with brakeman Dave MacEachern.
