BACKGROUND:
Lisa entered the sport of bobsleigh as a pilot in the fall of 2004. She spent her first year competing in local Alberta Cup races and honing her piloting skills on the Calgary track.
In the 2005-06 season Lisa progressed to the America’s Cup circuit. After showing promising piloting skills in the first half, the Bobsleigh Canada program invited Lisa to travel to Europe to represent Canada at the World Junior Championships, and to compete in two of the remaining Europa Cup races in the 2006 season. Lisa’s introduction to the European world of bobsleigh was much more successful than imagined as she slid to the podium in each track she competed on.

After competing on the Europa Cup circuit in 2006-07 where she also finished third at the World Junior Championships in Altenberg, Germany, Lisa completed her rookie season as a pilot on the World Cup last year finishing 12th overall.

Lisa is a multi-sport athlete, having participated in almost every sport she was offered in the small town Nanton, Alberta. However, volleyball and competitive swimming were her two main sports she competed in. Lisa was a member of the SAIT women’s volleyball team for the 2000-01 and 2001-02 seasons, and swam competitively for SAIT in 2000-01. Lisa is educated and skilled as a Graphic Artist. Her ambitions are to develop a freelance-based company and to qualify for, and compete, in the 2010 Olympic Winter Games.
