| BACKGROUND:
Mike joined the Bobsleigh Canada Skeleton’s national program in 2004. During his rookie season on the Europa Cup circuit in 2005, Mike finished in fifth place in the overall standings after threatening for a podium finish in every race.
In just his fourth competitive season, the Toronto native continued his development to the top of the skeleton world, where qualified for the National team and a spot on the World Cup circuit. He finished 15th in the 2008 World Championships.
During the off-season, Mike works at the Foothills Hospital as an x-ray technologist. The University of Toronto graduate attributes his speed and competitiveness in skeleton to his years in track and field and football. As a relative new-comer to the sport Mike’s rise has been swift en route to becoming a Vancouver 2010 Olympic hopeful.
